I have a data-attr Tooltip which display only text.
Now I want to add <a href="google.com">Lorem</a> in one phrase.
Like for example tooltip="Hello, this is <a href="google.com">Lorem</a> welcome"

But I can not implement the HTML because it will read it as Text. How can I make Tooltips/data-attr read HTML.

I thought of something like: read exact specific Text in Tooltip and replace it with <a href="google.com">Lorem</a> – but – that will still display it as Text.

/* START TOOLTIP STYLES */
[tooltip] {
  position: relative; /* opinion 1 */
}

/* Applies to all tooltips */
[tooltip]::before,
[tooltip]::after {
  text-transform: none; /* opinion 2 */
  font-size: .9em; /* opinion 3 */
  line-height: 1;
  user-select: none;
  pointer-events: none;
  position: absolute;
  display: none;
  opacity: 0;
}
[tooltip]::before {
  content: '';
  border: 5px solid transparent; /* opinion 4 */
  z-index: 1001; /* absurdity 1 */
}
[tooltip]::after {
  content: attr(tooltip); /* magic! */

  /* most of the rest of this is opinion */
  font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;

  1. You cannot insert HTML into a tooltip. The best way to implement this would be creating your own div that would only show on hover and act as a tooltip.

    To get you started:

    HTML

    <main>
        <div id="up">
            <div><a href="#">Some Link</a></div>
            <span>Up</span>
        </div>
        <div>
            <span tooltip="Slide to the left" flow="left">Left</span>
            <span tooltip="Slide to the right" flow="right">Right</span>
        </div>
        <div>
            <span tooltip="Get Down." flow="down">Down</span>
        </div>
    </main>

    CSS

    #up {
        position: relative;
    }

    #up div {
        display: none;
        position: absolute;
        top: -20px;
        padding-bottom: 20px;
        white-space: nowrap;
    }

    #up:hover div {
        display: block;
    }

    You’ll want to reference css position. Please remember that the parent has to be a positioned element as well -> that’s why I have a position of relative on our #up element. Following this pattern and adjusting the positioning for each you should be able to get the other links / tooltips into place.

  2. #element {
        width: 20px;
        height: 20px;
        background: red;
    }

    #element a {
        display: none;
        padding-left: 30px;
    }

    #element:hover a {
        display: block;
    }
    <div id="element">
        <a target="_blank" href="https://docs.devexpress.com/">Link</a>
    </div>

  3. I see you’re using content: attr(), but you definitely won’t be able to insert html into :after. Regarding tags in attributes, I see the following solution – you can add markdown to the attribute and then get the html (for example, use it marked library).
    Made a small example for a starting point 👇:

    const tooltip = document.querySelector('.tooltip');

    tooltip.addEventListener('mouseenter', function() {
      const tooltip = marked.parse(this.dataset.tooltip);
      this.insertAdjacentHTML('beforeend', `<div class="tooltip-content">${tooltip}</div>`);
    })

    tooltip.addEventListener('mouseleave', function() {
      this.removeChild(document.querySelector('.tooltip-content'));
    })
    * {
      margin: 0;
      padding: 0;
      box-sizing: border-box;
    }

    body {
      display: flex;
      justify-content: center;
    }

    .tooltip{
      position: relative;
    }

    .tooltip-content {
      position: absolute;
      top: 100%;
      padding-top: 20px;
      left: 50%;
      transform:translateX(-50%);
    }
    <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/marked/marked.min.js"></script>
    <div
      class="tooltip"
      data-tooltip="[Google](https://www.google.com/)"
    >
      tooltip
    </div>
