I am proficient in website design with WordPress as well as SEO, but the field of artificial intelligence is very hot and science is moving in the same direction. Do you think I should enter the field of intelligence with the help of Python or do SEO in depth. I am also interested in artificial intelligence. Thank you for your guidance.
I have learned WordPress and also SEO and I have been working for a year, but I do not do programming or plugin writing. I am currently interested in artificial intelligence and am hesitant to go down this path.

I am not familiar to SEO, but it seems that "An SEO Developer is tasked with developing web pages that are optimized for search engine spidering". This does not have anything to do with AI.
I have never seen anything related to SEO in AI, but Python is everywhere. More specifically, you should know Python, and a deep learning framework, like Pytorch/Tensorflow/Keras, etc. to get started in this field in terms of programming. Moreover, you should have extensive knowledge of Maths to really understand what is going on.
Stick with SEO until you can rank medium difficult keywords on page 1 of Google. These are keywords with >5000 allintitle: searches. Money keywords that can actually sell products or services people care about.
If you can do that, then you are a competent SEO.
It’s a lot harder than it seems. There is so much nonsense about SEO, perpetuated by Google itself and the SEO industry to lead people astray.
Only when you put money keywords on page 1 of Google will you be able to tell the BS from the real stuff. You will hit a bunch of dead ends and burn through a good deal of money and time trying bullshit tools, bullshit strategies, bullshit mentorship programs. This is part of the game. Don’t give up. You have to get scammed to level up.
You will find that 95% of the SEOs out there are totally incompetent. They have jobs but really have no idea what they are doing. How is this possible? A lot of companies that have little knowledge of SEO and will hire someone with no skills, and maybe a few Google Analytics or Hubspot certifications.
And even if you suck, the SEO company that hired you may not care. Because they have good salespeople who sell the SEO services you will be fulfilling. It will take the clients, who know even less about SEO, a year or two to fire your company (and you), but by then your company has made a lot of money and the salespeople have already brought in new people to replace those.
What if you work inhouse? Well, they don’t know anything about SEO, so if you tell them some nonsense they may believe you and keep you for years. You can even say, I know we are bring in less and less leads year over year, month over month with SEO, but it’s very competitive out there. If I didn’t do what I am doing we would have even less. You can keep your job for a long time just saying that.
I say this to you, because you can really suck in SEO, still get a job, and work on leveling up your skills. It took me 10 years of working full-time as an incompetant SEO to become good enough to rank money keywords. You can do it too 🙂
Anyway, once you are a decent SEO, sure learn AI. But at the moment you will have no idea how to apply AI, so it’s not the right time.
Until then use AI tools that already exist. AI tools for analyzing keywords. AI tools for optimizing content. AI tools for writing content. Use these and see how they work. 95% of them are garbage. That will be part of your learning curve.
Then, once you are a good SEO and you have tried many of the AI tools out there, you will possibly see a gap. Then you can build an AI tool that does what other’s don’t do. Or you may decide F that, I’m doing well and making good money doing SEO and using other people’s tools.
Once you are good at SEO so many opportunities open up for you. Work in-house as an SEO expert with very minimal effort. Open up your own SEO agency. SEO your own sites and generate $$$ with affiliate marketing. Or build tools, like AI tools. But you have to become good at SEO first.
